Music Ministry at Emmanuel

· Chancel Choir - Directed by Ryan Korb who has been Emmanuel’s Choir Director since 1995 is open to individuals from Middle School through Adult.  This group which has a wide variety of musical styles sings during worship every Sunday from September to May.  Their rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm from the last Wednesday in August through the middle of May.  Every December our Chancel Choir does a Christmas Cantata as well as an occasional Easter Cantata.  If you love to sing they invite you to join them, whether you’ve sung in a choir before or not, whether you read music or not.  Our goal is to “Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord!”  To learn more about our Chancel Choir you can email Ryan here: Ryan Korb

· Children’s Praise Choir - Directed by Linda Heisler and Tony Meulemans, this group meets every Sunday morning at the beginning of Sunday School.  This group sings on a regular basis during worship but the main focus is on lifting up their praises to kick off their Sunday School Class.  Every May we have a Children’s Sunday which features this choir as they too “Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord!”  Check out video highlights of Children’s Sunday 2010 when they presented “Malice in the Palace: the story of Queen Esther” on the Emmanuel Facebook page.  To learn more about our Children’s Praise Choir you can email us: Emmanuel UMC

· Handbell Choir - Directed by Lenore Geisthardt is open to all in 6th grade through adult.  The only required skill is the ability to count to 4.  All other training is provided.  We have two choirs, one practices on Sundays after worship, the other Wednesdays at 4:45pm.  To learn more about Handbell Choir send her an email here: Lenore Geisthardt 

· Special Music - There are many opportunities for special music throughout the year.  Every Sunday during the summer various groups and individuals provide worship music.  There are also opportunities provided during the school year as well where we will use individuals or small groups to share the message for that Sunday. 

· August Hymn Sing - Every August, with the votes provided by the congregation for their “favorite hymns,” we have an August Hymn Sing featuring our favorites.  One of the highlights of the month is that not only do we get to sing our favorite hymns we also get to hear the stories behind these wonderful hymns.  August is always a great month at Emmanuel!
