Founded in 1870
The Emmanuel congregation was founded in 1870 as an outreach mission of the Evangelical Association church in Neenah. Two years later, in 1872 our first church building was built on the corner of Durkee and Franklin Streets. This white clapboard church served the congregation until 1901. In 1901 the congregation built a larger building on the same site.

In 1952, construction began on a church building at the corner of College and Meade streets where we continue to worship today. We honor the tradition of our founders by continuing to be a welcoming place in downtown Appleton. We invite you to join us as we experience God's love for us in our mission statement: "We Welcome, We Worship, We Witness!"
